NBA PICKS: 12/7/07

1-3 night last night dropped us to 54-64-2 on the season. We are in a bad rut right now, but we know it will change. It has happened before. We know we need to keep working. We like 10 plays tonight. This is what we recommend:

Bucks +1 @ Sonics: The Sonics are really fun to watch and the Bucks have been terrible against them in their recent meetings. However, we think the Bucks front court will get the job done and cover. Take the Bucks +1.

Bulls @ Pistons -8: The Bulls are smokin’ hot right now. We think this line is a trap. It is begging you to take the Bulls. That is why we are taking the Pistons. Take the Pistons -8.

Clippers @ Kings -5: The Clippers are terrible. We LOVE the Kings at home. Take the Kings -5.

Heat +8.5 @ Warriors: The Heat looked terrible last night in Portland. They are not a good team right now. No energy. The Warriors have been just the opposite. That said, we think the Heat get their heads right tonight and muster enough to cover the 8.5. Take the Heat +8.5.

Jazz @ Spurs PICK ‘EM: The Spurs showed a lot in their Duncan-less win against the Mavs. They are a very good, very well coached team. The Jazz will give them a run for their money in this game, but they are a much different team on the road. Much different. Home court gives the Spurs a big edge in this one. Take the Spurs Pick ‘EM.

Rockets -4.5 @ Nets: The Nets are just a mess. The Jason Kidd sick day and trade demand rumors are causing a major headache with this team (we know that is a terrible joke). Regardless of the recent Kidd stuff, the Nets just have not been a good team all year. We love this spread. The Rockets will get after them and take this one. Take the Rockets -4.5.

Pacers @ Magic -8; OVER/UNDER 212: The Pacers have opened eyes this year. Since trading away the trouble makers from last year’s team, they are playing much, much better. That said, we just love the Magic at home. Dwight Howard is a manchild. The Magic front court should out rebound the Pacers and the Magic back-court can handle the Pacers. Take the Magic -8. Also, the OVER is too high for these teams. They match-up well and we think they both play good D. We think they will keep it relatively low scoring. Take the UNDER 212.

Suns -6.5 @ Wizards: The Suns are rollin’ on this road trip. They own the NBA LEast. They roll in this one. Take the Suns -6.5.

Raptors @ Celtics -12:Injuries played a major role in this play. If Bosh and Bargnani were healthy, this would be a different pick (granted the line would be much different, too). The Celtics have been unstoppable at home. TJ Ford cannot do this on his own. Take the Celtics -12.

NBA PICKS: 12/4/07

Greetings. 2-2 last night. Not a losing record, but still pretty bad. We are still plugging away though. Season record stands at 49-55-1. Here is who we like tonight:

Lakers -7.5

Jazz -3.5

Bucks +1.5 & the OVER 193

Nets/Cavs OVER 189

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: 11/29/07

3-2 last night finally got us a winning night. Baby steps. Baby steps. Our season record stands at 43-46-1. Inching closer to .500. There are three games tonight. We like one of them. Here it is:

Rockets -1.5 @ Warriors: Both teams played last night, so they will be travelling. Houston looked impressive last night against the Suns. The Warriors pulled a win out of their hats against the Kings. We think the Rockets are playing better. They have Yao in the middle. They will win the board battle and they have enough scorers to win by 2. Take the Rockets -1.5.

As always, good luck with your picks.

NBA PICKS: 11/28/07

Another 1-2 night!! I think we should change our name to 1-2 we hit it so much. Our season record is 40-44-1. It is a joke. We know. We will rebound. Here are picks tonight:

Cavs @ Pistons -8.5: This is a Vegas trap game. With the way the Cavs have been playing, this spread should be no where near this high. If anything, the Pistons should be the dog. That said, we are taking the Pistons. Take the Pistons -8.5.

Magic -8.5 @ Sonics: Magic are rested. They will roll. Take the Magic -8.5.

Jazz @ Sixers +6.5: The Jazz are a terrible road team ATS. We like the Sixers to cover. Take the Sixers +6.5.

Grizzles +6.5 @ Raptors: We are going against intuition here. We typically take the Raptors. However, we think the Grizzlies will cover. Take the Grizz +6.5.

Warriors -1.5 @ Kings: Very close match-up. Despite the Kings being great dogs at home, we think the Warriors end their trend of covers. Take the Warriors -1.5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS DAY 22 (11/21/07)

Disappointing 1-1 last night brings our season to 35-36-1, F’ing terrible! We like 4 games tonight:

Wizards @ Bobcats -5.5: Wizards looked great last night. Especially given that they played without Agent 0. They will be tired tonight. The Bobcats will be ready. We love them at home. Bobcats own their recent meetings ATS. Take the Bobcats -5.5.

Mavs +2 @ Rockets: Rockets are banged-up. We love the mavs getting points. Take the Mavs +2.

Magic +5.5 @ Spurs: We will never doubt the mighty magic again!! The Spurs are terrible ATS. We think the Magic win outright. Take the Magic +5.5.

Kings @ Suns -13.5: We are taking this simply because we think it is a trap. After last night, everything says take the Kings. That is why we are taking the Suns. Take the Suns -13.5.

Good luck!

NBA PICKS DAY 21 (11/20/07)

1-1 last night brings our record to 34-35-1. Still teetering below .500, but we are workin’. We like two games tonight:

Raptors +9 @ Mavs: Both teams are rested. The Mavs have won a few in a row, and they will probably win this one. However, we think +9 is too many points to give against the Raptors. Take the Raptors +9.

Suns -8 @ Kings: Kings have actually been surprising lately. Especially at home. However, although the Suns have been terrible ATS in their last few games against the West teams, we think they roll in this one. Too many weapons. Take the Suns -8.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: DAY 16

Good night last night-3-1. Brings our season record closer to respectability at 26-23-1. Not even close to good, but a little closer to a record that we can talk about in public. It will keep improving. Here’s our picks for tonight:

Magic +3 @ Cavs: We are a little reluctant to take the Magic in this one, but we like the points. We think they will cover. Take the Magic +3.

Jazz -1.5 @ Raptors: A battle of teams that love to cover for us. Utah owns their recent match-ups. Take the Jazz -1.5.

Sixers @ Hornets -8.5: Hornets destroyed them recently in Philly. The Sixers played most of last night’s game against the Mavs close, but lost it big in the end. The Hornets are rested and at home. A lot of points to give-up to a team that plays good D, but we think the Hornets will cover. Take the Hornets -8.5.

Knicks @ Clippers: The Knicks are a team in turmoil. And they are bad. The Clippers are rested and at home. Take the Clippers -8.

Pistons @ Warriors +2.5: The Pistons screwed us last night. The Warriors are winless, and they have too much talent to be winless at this point. They are rested. They get their first W tonight. Take the Warriors +2.5.

Kings +2 @ Wolves: This is an Ike Turner Game (more than typical bet). We like this a lot. Both teams are bad, but the numbers point to the Kings winning big. It is fantastic that they are getting points. Take the Kings +2.

There you go. Good luck with your picks.

NBA PICKS: DAY 14

We must start with an apology. 0-4 last night brought our record to 21-22. No need to provide any explanation. Just an apology. Sorry. We are in the same boat (we back-up our picks). Only place to go from here is up. Here you go:

Hornets @ Nets +2: Intriguing match-up. The Hornets have shown flashes of brilliance. The Nets have been their usual sturdy self. However, Vinsanity tweaked his ankle and is doubtful for tonight. That is a big loss for the Nets. However, even with Vince out, the Nets still kept is somewhat close against the Celtics. They still have other weapons, but not enough to keep up with the Hornets. Also, the road team is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings and the Hornets are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. Take the Hornets -2.

Cavs @ Nuggets -7.5: The Cavs roll into Denver after their solid win last night against the Clippers. They will face a rested Nuggets team that dominated in their last two games (both wins). The Nuggets are without Nene. That is a big loss. We like the rested Nuggets team to cover. Take the Nuggets -7.5.

Kings @ Jazz -13.5: The Kings have been terrible on the road. The Jazz have been solid at home. This is a lot of points and in their last 17 meetings in Utah, the Kings are 13-4 ATS. That would seem to say take the Kings and the points. We just can’t do it. We are sticking with the Jazz. Take the Jazz -13.5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: DAY 8

13-9 on the season. We are geting there. Here are our locks for Day 8:

Clippers +7 @ Bulls: Bulls have stumbled bad out of the gates. The Clipp look very similar to the team of last year-good but not great. Our analysis says they will lose, but they have enough to keep it within 7. Take the Clippers +7.

Hornets +3.5 @ Lakers: The Lakers are completely surprising us this year. We did not expect them to come out like they have. They are relentless at home. However, the Hornets have been just as surprising (if not more so). Our analysis says the Hornets will cover and probably win outright. Take the Hornets +3.5

Sonics +3 @ Kings: Sonics are young, but they play hard. We love Durant!! He is as good as advertised. The Kings are terrible. They won’t beat anyone by 3 or more. Take the Sonics +3.

Raptors -2.5 @ Bucks: Bucks are decent, but the Raptors are cover deamons. Even on the road, our analysis says Raptors all the way. Take the Raptors -2.5.

Magic -6.5 @ T’Wolves: The T’wolves losing KG hit them extremely hard. They are a fraction of the team they were last year. The Magic are legit, and like the Raptors, are cover deamons. Our analysis likes the Magic on the road. Take the Magic -6.5.

There you go. 5 locks for Day 8. Good luck with your picks.
