NBA PICKS: 12/6/07

Good evening. We had another disappointing night last night (how soft are the Mavs?!?!?!!?). 2-3-1 last night brings our season to 53-61-2. Only 3 games on the docket tonight. Here’s who we like:

Mavs -7.5 (The Nuggets are the only other team that may be as soft as the Mavs)

Hawks -9 and the UNDER 188.5

Heat -3

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: 11/30/07

We lost are only game last night as the Rockets failed to show-up at the Warriors. Brings our season record to a heart breaking 43-47-1. We are down, but definately not out. The season still has a long way to go and we are in it to win it. Here are our picks for tonight:

Celtics -3 @ Heat: The C’s head south to South Beach after an absolute beating of the Knicks. The Knicks put on the worse pefromance I have ever seen. Why Q. Richardson talked smack before the game about the C’s amazes me. This line is low because the Celtics are a much different team playing back-to-back games. Also, the last time they played the Heat it was at home and they barely won. We think they took the Heat for granted in the game. They will be ready for them now. 3 points is not too much for this team. Take the Celtics -3

Pacers -1.5 @ Sonics: The Pacers have been playing decent lately. The Sonics are very young and they have been making teams work to beat them. We think the experience of the pacers will win out here. Take the Pacers -1.5.

Blazers +13.5 @ Mavs: The Blazers are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games. It will end tonight. Take the Blazers +13.5.

Magic +5.5 @ Suns: The Suns have been an enigma ATS this year (if you’ve paid attention to our picks, you’ll know that that is EXTREMELY frustrating to us). The Magic are our homies. We are ridin’ with them. We think they win outright. Take the Magic +5.5.

Bucks -1.5 @ Knicks: Although experience tells us that we should take the Knicks here, we aren’t. F the Knicks. We are taking the Bucks on principal. Take the Bucks -1.5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: 11/26/07

Greetings. Our Turkey Day weekend picks were not kind to us at all. But, this is a new week and we are forever the optimists. Our season records stands at 38-40-1. We like 3 games tonight. Here we go:

Suns -5 @ Warriors: This game scares us somewhat given that it is a low spread and the Suns are on the road. Also, the Suns have been hit-or-miss ATS all season. The fact remains that they are loaded with scorers. The Suns have been terrible ATS in their last head-to-head meetings (4-6 in their last 10). However, we think they match-up well and will cover. Take the Suns -5.

Magic -5 @ Blazers: The Blazers were our cover horses last season. Losing Randolph and Oden have hurt them this year. They have not been consistent ATS. The Magic have been ridiculously hot. The ATS numbers lean slightly towards the Blazers (Magic are 3-9-2 ATS in their last 14 head-to-head match-ups, but they are 13-3-2 in their last 18 road games and the Blazers are 7-22 ATS in their last 29 Monday games, and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games), but this is not the same Blazers team. This is also a much better Magic squad. The Magic are loaded and hot. Take advantage. Take the Magic -5.

Jazz -5 @ Knicks: This game is a clean sweep game. The Jazz beat them (soundly) in all the ATS  numbers. They are rested and loaded. The Knicks ended their losing streak Saturday against the Bulls. The Bulls are not good though. The Jazz roll. Take the Jazz -5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: DAY 19 (11/17/07)

0-5 night last night really hurt us. 30-32-1 on the season. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Looking to rally tonight. Here’s who we like:

Blazers +6.5 @ Wizards: The Wiz were impressive last night in Minnesota. The Blazers lost on the road to a decent Sixers team. Interesting game here. The Blazers cover a lot for us, even though they have been terrible ATS in ther recent road games. However, the road team in this meeting is 8-2 ATS in the last 10. This is too many points. Take the Blazers +6.5.

Sonics @ Bobcats -8: Durant is bursting on to the scene!!!! Can only build confidence from last night. However, the Bocats are just too good. Especially at home and rested. Take the Bobcats -8.

Jazz -5.5 @ Pacers: Pacers sucks. Jazz will rebound. Take the Jazz -5.5.

Hornets -6 @ T’Wolves: The Hornets are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 meetings with the Wolves. The Hornets will rebound from last night. Take the Hornets -6.

Suns -6 @ Rockets: Rockets have hit the wall. No McGrady. The Suns are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 meetings and the road team is 9-3 ATS in their last 12. Take the Suns -6.

There you go. Good luck with your picks.

NBA PICKS: 5 FOR 5

Season record is a disappointing 7-7. Not bad for the first week, but not even close to our standards. It takes some time, but we are feeling out the teams and will get on the right track. In honor of day 5 of the NBA season, we got 5 locks for you. Here we go:

Magic +2 @ Wizards: The Magix got a Motor City beatdwon at home last night. The Wiz took part in their own masacre in Beantown last night, too. Who will give? We love us some Agent 0, but the Magic just have more talent. They will rebound and win this game outright. Take the Magic +2.

Bulls -2.5 @ Bucks: The Bulls just haven’t put it together yet. Tough losses to the Nets and the Sixers to start the season (the later being their home opener). Maybe the Kobe talk has got in their heads. The Bucks are also 0-2. The jury is still out on the Yi Jianlian, but we think he will be legit with a little more time. Which team goes 0-3 to start the season? We think it is the Bucks. It will be a close one, but we like the Bulls to cover. Take the Bulls -2.5.

Kings @ Mavs -14.5: The Mavs caught a beatdwon from a HYPED Hawks team in Hotlanta. Wow! The Hawks wanted that game and it showed. The Mavs looked lifeless. They also probably will be without Devin Harris (brusied leg). However, they will get Josh Howard back on Saturday. His suspension will be done just in time to face the Kings-the team he was playing when he got the suspension.  The Kings are probably the worse team in the league right now. They just have no talent, but given the heat from their last match-up, this should be a pretty heated game. We have been on the Mavs wagon for every game so far. Although we generally don’t like to do that, we think it works here. Take the Mavs -14.5.

Warriors @ Jazz -8.5: Jazz opened their season by giving the Warriors a beatdwon in Oaktown.  Rematch time. They will not beat them as bad at home, but they will cover the 8.5. Take the Jazz -8.5.

Trailblazers +12 @ Rockets: The Blazers caught a beatdown in New Orleans. The Rockets have been locked in against the lakers and the Jazz-two solid teams. However, the Blazers were our darlings last year. We like them to cover. Take the Blazers +12.

There’s our 5. Good like with yours.

NBA PICKS: DAY 4

Terrible night last night. Dropped both games bringing our record to 5-5. One of our losses (Suns) was an Ike Turner game. That one hurt. However, basketball is all about rebounding and that is what we are going to do tonight. Let’s roll:

Pistons +3 @ Magic: Tough game to pick. The Magic are solid and so are the Pistons. Pistons destroyed the Heat last night. They may lose to the Magic, but they will cover. Take the Pistons +3.

Mavs -6 @ Hawks: Easy game. Mavs are on a mission. They destroy the Hawks. Take the Mavs -6.

Wizards @ Celtics -6.5: Home opener for the new look Celts. They are stacked. Get them early before injuries set in. They roll over Agent 0 and the Wiz. Take the Celtics -6.5.

Blazers +8 @ Hornets: Hornets destroyed the Kings and looked good. The Blazers scraped against the Spurs but lost. I’m not convinced the Hornets are that good. Take the Blazers +8.

There you go. 4 Locks for the rebound.

NBA PICKS: TIME TO JUMP START THE SEASON!!!!

WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening night for the 2008-2009 NBA season is only one day away!! Just like last year, you can be sure that we are going to be all over picks this year. We are ready to roll. As you may know from last season, Flash and I didn’t pick every game or make picks everyday. Just like our NCAA football and NFL action this year, we only pick the games we like. That said, we like action in all three games on opening night. Without further to do, here we go:

Blazers @ Spurs -13.5: No history at all for this season. Last year the Spurs killed us ATS. They never covered when we picked them. On the other hand, the Blazers were very good for us ATS. However, that was last year. The Spurs are the champs. They are at home. They are healthy. The Blazers have no Oden and they traded Randolph away. Here is their projected starting 5: G Jarrett Jack, G Fred Jones, F Raef LaFrentz, F Martell Webster and C Jamaal Magliore. No other analysis required. The Spurs roll. Take the Spurs -13.5.

Jazz +3 @ Warriors: The Warriors are fresh off their Cinderella-story playoff run at the end of last year. The Jazz turned a lot of heads and are extremely talented. We like them to cover in this one. Will be a great game. Take the Jazz +3.

Rockets -5.5 @ Kobe: This game is all about the Rockets against one man-Kobe. There is no other threat on that team. Kobe is disgruntled and Phil is calling him out in the press. I think this is Zen move on the part of Phil will backfire. The Rockets will win big. Take the Rockets -5.5.

That’s how we see it. Good luck with your picks.
