NBA PICKS 11/23/07

We hope everyone had a great Turkey Day! Back to work for us. Still can’t get above .500, but we haven’t had a losing night in quite some time. Our season record is 37-38-1. It will improve. Here are our picks:

Lakers @ Celtics -7: All of the ATS numbers scream take the Lakers. However, this C’s team is unlike the Celtics teams Kobe and the Lakers have faced. Still, this game will be a close cover. But, we still like the Celtics. Take the Celtics -7.

Mavericks -7.5 @ Pacers: The Mavs have been comeback kids lately and the Pacers are playing better. The Pacers will have no answer for Dirk. This may be a double digit beatdown. Take the Mavs-7.5.

Grizzlies +12 @ Spurs: The Spurs are coming off an absolute beatdown of the uber hot Magic. The Grizz have struggled and have no clutch, go-to scorer. However, we think they cover here. The Spurs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 against the NBA Southwest and the underdog is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 head-to-head match-ups. That is enough for us. Take the Grizzlies +12.

Good luck!

NBA Picks for Day 18 – 11/16/2007

We do not have much time today with our new NCAA hoops coverage, NCAA football picks and getting our NFL picks out. We do like 5 NBA games tonight. We went 1-1 yesterday in the NBA and on the season we are 30-27-1. The five picks for today are:

Pistons (+3) at Lakers – Take the Pistons to cover
Heat at Celtics (-11.5) – Celtics are crushing teams. Celtics win and cover
Hornets (-3.5) at Grizzlies – We like the Hornets to win and cover in this one
Sonics at Hawks (-7.5) – We like the Hawks to win big at home
Jazz (-1) at Cavaliers – Jazz are a better team and win this road game

Sorry for the short post but we are in crisis mode cause Runny’s computer died. Look for more detailed posts in the future.

NBA PICKS: DAY 8

13-9 on the season. We are geting there. Here are our locks for Day 8:

Clippers +7 @ Bulls: Bulls have stumbled bad out of the gates. The Clipp look very similar to the team of last year-good but not great. Our analysis says they will lose, but they have enough to keep it within 7. Take the Clippers +7.

Hornets +3.5 @ Lakers: The Lakers are completely surprising us this year. We did not expect them to come out like they have. They are relentless at home. However, the Hornets have been just as surprising (if not more so). Our analysis says the Hornets will cover and probably win outright. Take the Hornets +3.5

Sonics +3 @ Kings: Sonics are young, but they play hard. We love Durant!! He is as good as advertised. The Kings are terrible. They won’t beat anyone by 3 or more. Take the Sonics +3.

Raptors -2.5 @ Bucks: Bucks are decent, but the Raptors are cover deamons. Even on the road, our analysis says Raptors all the way. Take the Raptors -2.5.

Magic -6.5 @ T’Wolves: The T’wolves losing KG hit them extremely hard. They are a fraction of the team they were last year. The Magic are legit, and like the Raptors, are cover deamons. Our analysis likes the Magic on the road. Take the Magic -6.5.

There you go. 5 locks for Day 8. Good luck with your picks.

4-1 yesterday brought our record to 11-8 on the season. We off the a decent start. We will improve. Here we go:

Celtics +1 @ Raptors: Celts are legit. We love th Raptors, but they will not beat the Celtics tonight. Take the Celtics +1.

Jazz @ LA Lakers Pick ‘Em: Love the pick ’em in this. The Jazz should be favored. Even on the road. Take the Jazz to win.

There you go. Only 2 locks, but they are winners. Good luck with your picks.

NBA PICKS: CALLIN’ SHOTS FROM BEYOND THE ARC

Great rebound on day 2!! 4-1 yesterday. Brings the early season record to 5-3. We are moving in the right direction. We like two games on day 3. Here we go:

Sonics @ Suns -10: Sonics played hard last night against the Nuggets. They impressed me in the defeat (also, F Coach Karl for running up the score and not getting on his team for shooting too soon. Hey Coach, have you ever heard of the shot clock???!?!? Mark our words, it will come back to haunt you). However, back-to-back games after a getting a workout against a running team like Denver is not good. Especially when the next team in line is the Suns in Phoenix. This will be a beatdown Ike Turner style. In honor of Ike, we will call this our “Ike Turner Game.” It will be a signal to you to bet it much heavier than your typical bet, ala the “Brinks Truck” bet from our NCAA picks. We will give these to you from time to time as the season progresses. Take the Suns -10.

Rockets @ Jazz -4: Although this is not at the Ike Turner level, we like this one a lot as well. The Jazz came out swinging on opening night against the Warriors. The Rockets did not look good against a talent challenged Lakers team. We like the Jazz to cover easy. Take the Jazz -4.

There you go. Two more winners. We are giving these away!! Use it to your advantage and pillage. We are, and so should you.

NBA PICKS: TIME TO JUMP START THE SEASON!!!!

WHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opening night for the 2008-2009 NBA season is only one day away!! Just like last year, you can be sure that we are going to be all over picks this year. We are ready to roll. As you may know from last season, Flash and I didn’t pick every game or make picks everyday. Just like our NCAA football and NFL action this year, we only pick the games we like. That said, we like action in all three games on opening night. Without further to do, here we go:

Blazers @ Spurs -13.5: No history at all for this season. Last year the Spurs killed us ATS. They never covered when we picked them. On the other hand, the Blazers were very good for us ATS. However, that was last year. The Spurs are the champs. They are at home. They are healthy. The Blazers have no Oden and they traded Randolph away. Here is their projected starting 5: G Jarrett Jack, G Fred Jones, F Raef LaFrentz, F Martell Webster and C Jamaal Magliore. No other analysis required. The Spurs roll. Take the Spurs -13.5.

Jazz +3 @ Warriors: The Warriors are fresh off their Cinderella-story playoff run at the end of last year. The Jazz turned a lot of heads and are extremely talented. We like them to cover in this one. Will be a great game. Take the Jazz +3.

Rockets -5.5 @ Kobe: This game is all about the Rockets against one man-Kobe. There is no other threat on that team. Kobe is disgruntled and Phil is calling him out in the press. I think this is Zen move on the part of Phil will backfire. The Rockets will win big. Take the Rockets -5.5.

That’s how we see it. Good luck with your picks.
