NFL WEEK 4 2008 PICKS: MONDAY NIGHT MADNESS!!!!!

Greetings folks. As a group, we went 6-0 yesterday on our picks. That’s right…6-0!!! You can’t beat that and we knew we would recover. We are about to go 7-0 and this is what I like:

Runny Pick

Ravens @ Steelers (-6): Flash is not rollin’ with me on this one. This game did not pass one of his models, but I feel very good about it with mine. Another great Monday Night match-up of two bitter division rivals. These teams play each other hard and usually knock the snot out of one another. Both teams limp into this one with the Steelers being banged-up on the offensive side and the Ravens being hobbled on D. What will give?

There are two things that stand out to me about this game. The first is that this is Joe Flacco’s first road start. He hasn’t left Baltimore yet, and he is about to be thrown into the fire. The Steelers will give him a ton of looks he has never seen before. Flacco has looked good, but this game is different. He is not going up against the Bungles and the disappointing Browns. My take is never trust a rookie QB in a rivalry game on the road on Monday Night.

Which leads me to the next thing that stands out: the line. For bitter division rivals that pound each other, this line is huge. The Ravens have the league’s best D. They are 2-0 and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 against the Steelers. No way this line should be that high. However, it is and it yet again points to VEGAS KNOWS!!! I think this game is a trap. I’m not falling for it. Take the Steelers -6.

Good luck with your picks.

NFL WEEK TWO Free Winning Picks: NO PLACE TO GO BUT UP!!

Greetings folks. If you followed us last week, you took a bad beating. We did, but we have had bad weeks in the past. We always right the ship. We can only go up from here and we know we will. Our records on the season are as follows:

RPJ PICKS: 2-3
FLASH PICKS: 1-0
RUNNY PICKS: 0-5

No explanation for that crap. We know it is terrible, but we practice full disclosure. Feel free to blast us anyway you want. It won’t stop us from picking. We are imploring the will of Sarah Palin to bust us out of our mini slump. She jacked up McCain’s approval rating and good fortune and now we call on you…Mrs. Governor of Alaska and VP running mate to spread your goodwill and make our picks come in.

C’mon Sarah….bring home the cold hard cash!!!!!

That said, here is what we like in Week Two:

Raiders @ Chiefs (-3.5): The Raiders looked terrible on Monday. They played about as bad as a team could play. On the contrary, the Chiefs held their own against the mighty Pats in Foxboro last week. Their D looked really, really good. The Raiders are on a short week. The Chiefs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 at home against the Riaders, but we don’t think it matters in this one. Take the Chiefs -3.5.

Saints -1 @ Skins: The Skins disppointed us in Week One in NY/NJ. We don’t think they are as bad as they played and we think they will improve playing at home this week. However, the Saints just have more talent and a much better coach. The Saints beat a very good Tampa team last week and Colston was not productive. His loss impacts the team for the ling run but it doe snot impact them for this game. Also, the Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in DC. This line is essentially a pick-em. Take the Saints -1.

Runny picks:

Pats +1.5 @ Jets: This game will be the most hyped game of the week. Jets fans are foaming at the mouth with the opportunity to have Favre pound the Bradyless Pats at home. No doubt the Pats are a completely different team. However, Belichek is one of the best coaches in the game. He will come-up with a plan to exploit Cassel’ talents. Don’t forget, Matt Cassel is a USC product. He has talent and he has studied under Belichk and Brady his whole career. He has excellent skill players around him. He can get it done. Don’t forget, the Pats are 9-0 ATS in their last 9 at the Jets. The Jets did win against the Fins last week, but the Fins still suck. The Pats win outright. Take the Pats +1.5.

Chargers (-1) @ Broncos: The Broncos certainly had an outstanding debut against the Raiders on Monday night. Now they head home to face a Chargers team that is reeling from the heartbreaking loss at home to Carolina and from knowing that Merriman is out for the year. Tough blows. However, Carolina is much better than the Raiders and that game could have easily gone in the Chargers’ favor. The Chargers are 4-0 ATS against the Broncos. Take the Chargers -1.

Steelers @ Browns (+6): The Brownies looked terrible at home last week against the Boys. Romo had all day to pass and he ate them up. The Steelers were the exact opposite against the Texans last week. What will give? The ATS numbers favor the Steelers by a lot (Browns: 1-8 ATS in their last 9 against the Steelers; 0-5 ATS in their last 5 at home against the Steelers), but we think the Browns will make adjustments and figure out how to get pressure on Big Ben. They may not win, but they can keep it within 6.5. They will be fired up to avenge their terrible play last week and show the Steelers they can hang. Keep in mind that the Browns were destroyed last year in Week One (by the Steelers) but came back to drop 51 on the Bungles. Take the Browns +6.

Flash Flash Picks:

Baltimore at Houston (-4) – The tale of opposites. Houston was spanked on the road last week. Baltimore and Joe Flacco won against the Bungles. Houston is better than they showed and will be at home. Baltimore did not show anything but still won. Rookie QBs are comfortable at home and playing on the road is a whole nother ball game on the road. I think Baltimore gets blown out by more than 10 and I am even picking this game in all of my knockout pools this week. Some ATS numbers:

Ravens are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games on grass.
Ravens are 6-21 ATS in their last 27 road games.
Ravens are 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games overall.
Ravens are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 vs. AFC.
Ravens are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.
Ravens are 1-5 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
Ravens are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in September.
Ravens are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.
Ravens are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

Texans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games.
Texans are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Texans are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in September.
Texans are 2-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
Texans are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. AFC.

Pick the Texans at home to cover!!!

Come back for the Monday Night pick. As always, good luck with your picks.

NFL WEEK 15 PICKS

Another Sunday is upon us and the NFL regular season is winding down. Teams are jockying for playoff spots, 1st week byes and draft positions. Very exciting stuff. Of course the Bungles sucked it on Saturday night to bring our season record to 54-41-1. We are disappointed, but still happy with how our season is going. We know we do our best work on Sundays. With that said, this is what e like Sunday:

Jags +3 @ Steelers: No guarantees by the Steelers this week as they host the Jags. Big playoff implications in this on. The Jags are playing very sound football right now while the Steelers have been two different teams-brilliant at home and terrible on the road. They are at home this week and they are getting players back from the medical ward. It won’t matter in this one. The jags are banged-up, but they know how to overcome. They will keep it close if not win outright. Take the Jags +3.

Colts @ Raiders +10.5: The Colts roll into Oaktown to face a young Raiders team. The Colts have looked like a team that is primed for the playoffs-despite the injuries. They are banged-up again for this one. The Raiders were terrible in Green Bay last week. All the ATS numbers point to the Colts covering easy. And, most of the money in Vegas is on the Colts (94% as of the time of this post). That is why we like the Raiders at home. Kiffin grew up watching Dungy. He will have his boys ready. Take the Raiders +10.5

Ravens -3.5 @ Dolphins: Could there be a worse team than the Fins?!?! Just when you think it could not get any worse, they lose 38-17 to the Bills. There is no relief in sight. The only things they have going for them in this one is that they are at home and the Ravens have a lot of key injuries. We don;t think it will matter in this one. Take the Ravens -3.5.

Titans -4 @ Chiefs: The Chiefs are a mess. They could be looking at using their 4th string RB this week. That is not good against a solid Tennessee D. The Chiefs just are not a good team right now. They are not well coached, and they are injured. Despite the huge home-field advantage, this all adds up to a Titans cover. Take the Titans -4.

Falcons +12.5 @ Buccaneers:Don’t get us wrong-the Falcons are terrible. Petrino walking out on them was just another sign that things are not getting any better in Hotlanta anytime soon. That said, 12.5 is too many points. They will rally around each other after Petrino quit on them and keep this game with 12.5. Take the Falcons +12.5.

Eagles +10 @ Cowboys: The Cowboys return home after a sucker win against the Lions. They had no business winning that one and that game revealed a lot about this team-they are extremely soft on D and very undisciplined on O. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the field, but need a lot of improvement if they want to get through the playoffs. The Linos showed that the Cowboys can be physically dominated with hard hits. The Eagles definitely know how to do that. They will cover if not win outright. Also, keep in mind that the last time the Cowboys had a lucky win like last week was also on the road. It was in Buffalo on Monday night. What happened the following week? They got spanked at home by the Patriots. This will be the Eagles Super Bowl. Nothing will please them more than to beat the Cowboys in Big D. Take the Eagles +10.

Seahawks -7 @ Panters: The Seahawks are hot right now. They have been decimating teams at home and on the road. They look to continue that play against a struggling Panthers team this week. The injury bug has hit the Panthers particularily hard this year. That does no bode well for them against a hot ‘Hawks team. We think the Seahawks will have too much for them this week. Take the Seahawks -7.

Jets @ Patriots -21: Another lopsided spread for the Pats. This line actually opened at 24.5 and has dropped. We think it is due to the weather and the fact that a huge majority of the bets in Vegas are on the Jets. We think that is comical. Even with the weather, the Pats are gonna steamroll this Jets team. They have no threats at all. Kellen Clemens has not seen this team in action and the Jets D will not be able to stop the Pats. Belichek despises Mangini and if he was willing to run up the score on Joe Gibbs, what do you think he will do in this one?!?! We don’t think the Jets will even score. Take the Pats -21.

Redskins @ Giants -5: The Skins are injured and are limping into their match-up with the Giants. Losing Jason Campbell is a HUGE loss. Todd Collins is not answer. The Giants will roll at home. Take the Giants -5.

9 picks for Sunday! Good luck with your picks!

NFL WEEK 14 PICKS: SUNDAY NIGHT ACTION

Great day for us today! We went 6-2 to raise our record to 51-38-1. 57% ain’t bad, but definitely not where we need it to be. We want to add two more plays because we like tonight’s game. Here you go:

Colts -8.5 @ Ravens; OVER/UNDER 42: The Ravens are home after their near monumental upset of the Pats last Monday night. What a game that was and the Ravens showed everyone that their D can still go get ’em. They should have won that game. Now they get the Colts, arguably the 2nd best team in the AFC.

They are getting a ton of points at home. What does that say? This line opened the week at 10 points. It has dropped all the way down to 8.5. The interesting thing is that the majority of the public money is on the Colts. This should raise the line, not drop it like it is. This smells like a trap. However, we don’t believe it is. The Ravens sold out last week to beat the Pats. It was their self proclaimed Super Bowl. They played like it, too. Now they get a Colts team that is banged up on offense. However, the Colts have a better D than the Pats and they can score just about as well. We think the Colts will do it.

This game screams to take the Ravens. With the trap line action and the weather (cold and rain in tonight’s forecast), it favors the Ravens to cover. We don’t think so. We think the line drop is due more to the weather than anything else. Colts still cover. We love that it is dropping. Take the Colts -8.5.

Given the weather, the Ravens D and the Ravens O, we think the cover will be close and the game will be low scoring. Take the UNDER 42.

Good luck.

NFL WEEK 13 PICKS: MONDAY NIGHT MADNESS

Greetings! 1-7 yesterday was our worse Sunday yet. We took a bad beatdown. Season record stands at 43-35-1. Very pedestrian. On to tonight:

Pats -18.5 @ Ravens OVER/UNDER 47: The Pats Juggernaut rides into Baltimore looking to dish out another beatdown. Standing in their way tonight are the Ravens. The Pats looked far from perfect last weekend against the Eagles. The Ravens have been terrible all year. On paper, the Pats should DESTROY the Ravens. The Ravens have no offense at all. Their D has many holes. That said, there are a lot of vets on the defensive side of the field, and the Pats haved waxed all week about how much the respect Ed Reed. What will give?

The lines have been dropping for this game all week. It reflects the betting public’s actions. It is also probably based upon fear of the weather in Baltimore-terrible winds. However, we think this is another factor. The factor that always comes into EVERY game and EVERY spread. It is the Vegas knows factor and Vegas knows they want your money. At the time of this post, 76% of the picks were placed on the Pats. However, the line has DROPPED. Typically, if there is that much action on one side, the line should increase. Not so in this case. What does that mean for you and us? It means that Vegas is trying to get you to take the bait. After all, the lower that line is, the more it screams take the Pats. We are not doing that. We like the Ravens to cover.

Mind you, it PAINS us to recommend that. The Ravens are a joke and the Pats always come out guns blazin’. They try to run up the score and will be looking for revenge from their lackluster performance last week. It is tough taking the Ravens when you know they are terrible and the Pats are looking to decimate them. However, we stand by our pick. Take the Ravens +18.5 .

Now, on to the OVER/UNDER. The Pats have not covered the OVER only twice this year. However, like the spread and the logic mentioned above, the OVER/UNDER has dropped all week. It has actually dropped quite alot, despite the fact that the majority of the picks are on the OVER. What does this mean? Take the UNDER. The weather only helps our cause. Take the UNDER 47.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed on this one. Good luck.

NFL WEEK 13 PICKS

Great start to the week last Thursday night. The ‘Boys treated us right and that game played out exactly like we said. We hope you believed us about the Vegas trap and decided to roll with us. Thursday brought us a 2-0 night and brought our season record to 42-28-1. We like how we are looking so far in Week 13. Still, we know there is still a lot of ground left to go to get another winning weekend. We are confident though. Here is who we like on Sunday:

Falcons +3 @ Rams: This is our favorite game of the week. The Rams will be without Mark Bulger. Gus Ferotte mans the QB helm for the Rams. We saw how he did last week-atrocious. The Falcons are bad, too, but we think they will run all day against the Rams D. We love the Falcons. Take the Falcons +3.

Jets @ Dolphins -1: This is another game we like a lot. The Jets fly south to face the winless Dolphins. Here’s the thing though-despite being winless, the Fins are not THAT bad. Actually, let us re-phrase that. They are pretty terrible, but they have a very good D. Not amazing, but certainly pretty decent. The Jets are by no means good. In fact, we think this is a classic case of the records not really telling the whole story. The Jets have 2 wins, but are actually probably worse than the Fins. We think the Fins get their first (and probably only) W of the season this week. Take the Dolphins -1.

Chargers @ Chiefs +6: The Chargers were smoked in their last meeting. And that game was in San Diego. They head into KC in December. The words “KC in December” are probably the last things a visiting team wants to hear. The Chargers have won their last game against a terrible Ravens team. However, this season they are 1-4 on the road. And that is not ATS. That is their win-loss record. That is a joke. They may win this game, but it will be close. Take the Chiefs +6.

Buccaneers @ Saints -3: The Bucs have been great ATS lately. However, they head into New Orleans all banged-up. Garcia’s back is barking hard and it is questionable whether he even plays. Even if he does, he will be limited. The Saints are in a must win here. Although we hate taking them in this game, we think it is a good play. Take the Saints -3.

Browns @ Cardinals OVER/UNDER 51.5: We could not get a clear take on this game as far as who would cover. At first glance, this seems like a Vegas trap (see our post for last Thursday’s game). With the way the Cards have been playing and with their injuries, there is no way they should be favored. Then again, it is only 1 point. We are not comfortable recommending either team. What we are sure of, however, is that both teams can score some points. We love this over. Take the OVER 51.5.

Giants -1.5 @ Bears: The Bears pulled one out of their hats last week. The Giants looked terrible against the Vikings. That said, the Giants are still a better team. Rex will blow this one for them and end their season. Take the Giants -1.5.

Bengals +7 @ Steelers: The Bengals proved to be great for us last weekend. They head into the Steel City to face their hated rivals. The Steelers have been an enigma this year-terrible on the road and perfection at home. They are 8-0 ATS at home. We think that streak ends this week. Do not be surprised if the Bungles win this game outright. Take the Bengals +7.

There you go-7 more picks for week 13. Check in win us on Monday for our blog for the Pats-Ravens game. Good luck!!

NFL WEEK 12 PICKS

Greeting and Happy Turkey Day! Hope your holiday went well. Our’s did-great food, great family, great friends and 2-1 on our NFL picks (3-1 if you count the USC beatdown at ASU)!! Brings our record to 36-22-1. That is 62%!! We are gtting better and hope to have the record above 65% ASAP. Here are our picks for Sunday’s action:

Titans @ Bengals +1.5: The Titans looked terrible on Monday against a mediocre Broncos team. The Bengals have looked bad all season. What will give? The ATS numbers are pretty even. We can’t believe we are saying this, but we like Cinncy. Take the Bungles +1.5.

Broncos +2 @ Bears: The Broncos looked great last Monday at home. The Bears are a joke. Grossman is a mistake at QB. Shannahan will bring the pressure against him, forcing the typical Grossman mistakes. The Bears D is no where near what it used to be. We like the Broncos to cover and porbably win outright. Take the Broncos +2.

Seahawks @ Rams +3: The Rams seem to have righted their ship. They are getting their guys back from injury, and they are playing much better. The Seahawks are playing better as well. However, we think the ‘Hawks are not as good as they think. Also, the underdog is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 head-to-head meetings. That is enough for us. This is too many points to give the Rams. Take the Rams +3.

49ers @ Cardinals -10.5: This ia a lot of points to give, but the 49ers are a joke. The Cards are playing well right now and will look to avenge their week 1 loss in SanFran. We think they roll here. Take the Cards -10.5.

Ravens +9 @ Chargers: The Chargers are a joke. What the heck happened to this team?!?!?!?!? Norv? Did they believe the hype? Who knows. The Ravens are pretty freakin’ bad, too. However, in a battle of two terrible teams, be like the points. Even on the road. Take the Ravens +9.

Eagles @ Patriots -24; Over/Under 50.5: You read that right-“-24”!!!!!! Insane amount of points to give in a NFL game. We checked our records and cannot find a line this high for NFL in the past 25 years. However, we think it is legit and not low enough. The Eagles are a debacle. The Pats have shown their goal is to run up the score. 24 points is a lot to give, but we think they win this game by 30. Take the Pats -24. Also, the Pats will hang 50 points on their own. Take the Over 50.5.

Good luck.

NFL WEEK 11 PICKS

Greetings. Great week last week. Rocked a 6-2 record for week 10 to bring our season record to 30-17-2. That is 61%. We’ll take that all season long. Let’s keep it rollin’. Here is who we like in Week 11:

Browns -2.5 @ Ravens: We have an Uncle, Moe, who is a die hard Browns fan. Seriously. If you try to argue who the greatest NFL footballer is and say anyone besides Jim Bown, he’ll try to fight you. Even during the holidays. When Art Modell moved the Browns to Baltimore, it broke his heart. He stopped watching footbal until the Brownies were back. To this day, if you mention Art Modell within his earshot he goes nuts. In honor of our Uncle Moe, we will call this game the Uncle Moe Bowl and we LOVE the Brownies. Bet them heavy. It is a Eva Mendes bet (bet 5 Times your typical bet) for us. The money seems to be going towards the Ravens, which scares us. However, the Browns spanked them earlier this year and they are playing better now. The Ravens are even worse. Also, take into account that the Browns are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games against teams with losing records and the Ravens are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 overall. We think the Browns cover. Take the Browns -2.5.

Chargers @ Jags -3: This line screams to take the Chargers, which is exactly what the betting public is doing. Afterall, the Chargers are fresh off a beatdown of the Colts last Sunday. However, that win was deceptive-most of the scoring was from special teams. For the 2nd week in a row, the Chargers offense was offensive. They come into J’Ville to play a stacked J’Ville D and the Jags are getting David Garrard back. The Jags cover. Take the Jags -3.

Raiders +4.5 @ Vikings: The Vikings are not the same without Adrian Peterson (to state the obvious). The Raiders come in with an underrated D and Daunte Culpepper returning to his old stomping ground. Brad Childress is not a good coach. Lane Kifin is. The Vikings QB problem will hurt them in this one. We think the Raiders keep it close and win outright (consider the money line @ +180). Take the Raiders +4.5.

Redskins @ Cowboys -11: The Skins are decimated by injuires on their D. Without Sean Taylor, Romo and TO will go nuts. The Boys roll in this one. Take the Cowboys -11.

Buccaneers -3 @ Falcons: This game is about the starting QBs. Garcia is better than any of the clowns the Falcons bring to the table. Garcia will play enough to cover. Take the Buccaneers -3.

Titans @ Broncos (O/U 38): A battle of teams that have young QBs. They both make a lot of mistakes. The defenses will capitalize on them and keep the score low. Take the Under 38.

Patriots @ Bills +16: We like this game for 4 reasons: 1). The Pats did not cover their last time on the road, 2). The weather is forecasted to be bad, 3). Most of the money in Vegas is on the Pats and 4). The Bills have nothing to lose. To us, that adds up to a Bills team that will shock the Pats and cover the points. Take the Bills +16.

Rams -3 @ 49ers: The 49ers are just plain bad. Terrible. Alex Smith is whining about his shoulder. He is bad. The Rams are not good either, but they won last week and have momentum. They will keep it going. Take the Rams -3.

There’s our picks for week 11. 8 games!!! Good luck.

NFL WEEK 10 PICKS

Greetings folks. First things first-we went 4-4 last week bringing our season record to 24-15-2. There is no need to tell us that that is a terrible record. We know. It will improve. Stick with us. We are in the same boat. But we ain’t quittin’!!! Let’s roll into Week 10!!!! Here’s our picks:

Bills -2.5 @ Dolphins: This game has “trap” written all over it. This line is almost too tempting. Vegas always knows and this screams that they want you to take the Bills. Any team can cover a field goal against the Fins, right? There answer should be an obvious “yes,” but again, Vegas knows. Each week we look for these games and stay away. In fact, that is always our first step in our analysis. However, the last time the Bills did not cover was 2003. They shut them out last year in their final match-up and this Fins team is way worse. Even though it could be a Vegas trap, we like the Bills. Take the Bills -2.5.

Browns +10 @ Steelers: The Steelers are deadly at home. They CRUSHED the Ravens last Monday night (I don’t think I’ve seen a worse beatdwon. Well, maybe the Pats-Skins this year). They hate the Brownies, too. I’m sure they will try to do the same thing they did to the Ravens. However, the Ravens are terrible right now and the Browns are hot. Derek Anderson has that team rolling. He can lead the Browns to keep it within 10. Take the Browns +10.

Vikings +5.5 @ Packers: Adrian Peterson. Adrian Peterson. Adrian Peterson. Brad Childress finally figured it out-feed AP the ball all day. The guy is a mchine. They will run it down the Packers’ throat and keep it with in 5.5. Take the Vikings +5.5.

Bengals +3.5 @ Ravens: Both teams are a mess. This game is about picking who is more of a debacle. The Ravens are and we are taking the points. Take the Bengals +3.5.

Cowboys -1.5 @ Giants: This spread is tricky. The .5 has “F Us” written all over it. The Boys should win this game. Both teams are better than they were in Week 1. The Boys get Tank Johnson this week to sure up their middle. This game will be a shootout, but the Boys have more weapons. Romo will make less mistakes than Eli. Take the Boys -1.5.

Colts @ Chargers (O/U 47.5): This is over is way too high. look at the Colts last week against the Pats-they only scored 44 points total. The Chargers do not have the Pats offense. Take the Under 47.5

There are our picks. Use whatever you want. Let us know what you tink. Good luck with your picks.

NFL PICKS WEEK 9: WEEK 9 IS FINE!!!!

Greetings. After the 5-0 weekend last week, we brought our record to 20-11-2. That is damn fine as we head into week 9. We look to continue our undefeated run with some more locks today. Here we go:

Cowboys -3 @ Eagles: The Cowboys roll into Philly looking to avenge two straight beatdwons at the hands of the Eagles. The Eagles head back home after a solid win in Minnesota amidst the turmoil of Andy Reid and his family crisis (Andy, take a leave of absence. Focus on your kids and family. Life is too short to worry about a team where the fans chant “Bill Cower” in the stands of your home games all the while your kids are falling apart. It is not a sign of weakness to resign. Refusing to step down is a sign of arrogance and stupidity. That is just our two cents..). The Boys are coming off the bye. They are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 November games. The Eagles are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games in Week 9. The Boys will win easily. Look for TO to have a big game. Take the Cowboys -3.

Redskins -3.5 @ Jets: The Jets finally pulled the trigger on Pennigton and will start Kellen Clemens this week. We agree with this move. The Jets aren’t going to the playoffs this year. They should look to their future. Clemens has a gun and it is worth the look. That said, they are still pretty bad. Their team has been decimated by injuries. The Skins are fresh off the mother of all beatdowns last week from New England. They will rebound. They have a solid D that is good enough to hold down the Jets O. The Jets are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 against a team with a winning record. Take the Skins -3.5.

49ers +3.5 @ Falcons: Both these teams are a mess. This game cracks us up!!! The 49ers roll into town probably with Alex Smith back. He is no Joe Montana, but he is probably as good as Joey Harrington. The 49ers have a better D. Here are some other tidbits: 49ers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 head-to-head meetings; the underdog is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings. Take the points in this one (we think the 49ers win outright anway). Take the 49ers +3.5.

Chargers -7 @ Vikings: Chargers are rollin’ now. The Vikings have the NFL’s best back in Adrian Peterson. However, manning the Vikings helm is Brad Childress. He is a terrible play caller (single-handedly cost them the Cowboys game). The Chargers D will be all over Jackson/Holcomb. They can stop Peterson. This is  alot of points to give a home team, but they can cover. Take the Chargers -7.

Ravens +9 @ Steelers: The Ravens have not played well, but they are coming off the bye. They will be getting players back from the injury report. The Steelers have been up and down all season. One week they look like the Patriots. The next they get destroyed. Most of those bad games have come on the road. This week they are at home. The AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers are unbeaten at Heinz Field this season and have not lost a Monday night game at home in more than 16 years. They will be looking to avenge two beatdwons last season at the hands of the Ravens. They will win this game, but 9 points is too many to give to a division rival coming off the bye. Especially when that rival is a veteran team. Take the points. Take the Ravens +9.

Jags @ Saints -3: The Saints have won 3 straight and look to finally get to .500 on the season. They are at home this week where they have not been good ATS (7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 home games). They also have not covered (2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall).  The Jags held off a late surge by the Bucks last weekend and will throw Quinn Gray out there for his 2nd start. The Jags have a jacked D and will try to pound the Saints with the run. The Saints will counter with stacking the line and make Gray beat them. He won’t. The Saints will cover. Take the Saints -3.

Packers +2.5 @ Chiefs: The Chiefs surprised us this year, but we are not convinced they are as good as their record says. Favre is hot and he has never beat the Chiefs. It will change this week. Pack wins outright. Take the Packers +2.5.

Patriots @ Colts +5.5: Here we go!! Everyone has been asking us our take on this game. Definately the biggest game of the year to date and is probably a preview of the AFC Championship. The Pats have looked unstoppable all season. The Colts have been very impressive, too. Harrison is listed as questionable, but we think he will play. It is tough to find and edge in this game. Both teams have outstanding QB’s. Both D’s are not great, but not bad either. Here is the thing about this though-the Patriots have played a MUCH easier schedule. Their only challenge came against the Cowboys. The Cowboys ultimately lost that game, but did have a lead in the 2nd half. No other team has done that. The rest of their schedule has been a cake walk. On the other hand, the Colts have played some tough teams and still have been damn impressive. They avenged a embarassing loss last year to the Jags.  We like the Colts strength of schedule. We like them at home. We like that the media is giving them little chances of winning. We think the Pats will ultimately win, but it will be close. The Colts will cover. Take the Colts +5.5.

There you go. 8 locks!!!!! Good luck with you picks.
