NBA PICKS: 12/10/07

After a disappointing 5-5 night last Friday night, we took the weekend off to re-group (and focus on NFL). Our season record stands at 59-69-2. Here is what we like tonight:

Rockets @ 76ers +6:  Rockets got SMOKED last night by a battered Raptors team. They play back-to-back nights tonight against a high energy Sixers team that is fresh off of back-to-back beatdwon of the the Knicks. Not that that is an impressive feat, but they did look good. We think the Rockets right their ship and win tonight, but we think the Sixers keep it with 6. Take the Sixers +6.

Hawks @ Magic -9.5: The Hawks have been terrible ATS on the road. However, they have been good recently in Orlando. We don’t think it matters tonight. The Magic are rested. We think they roll. Take the Magic -9.5.

Mavs -8.5 @ Knicks: This is a lot of points to give a home team. Not when that team is the Knicks. Eventhough the Mavs are the softest team in the NBA, we think they cover. Take the Mavs -8.5.

Heat @ Suns -11.5; OVER/UNDER 216.5: The Heat have actually been surprisingly decent ATS in back-to-back games (4-2). That said, they are still not a good team. The last time they were in Phoenix, they lost by 28. It won’t be that bad tonight, but it will still be a beatdown. Take the Suns -11.5. We also love the OVER 216.5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: 12/7/07

1-3 night last night dropped us to 54-64-2 on the season. We are in a bad rut right now, but we know it will change. It has happened before. We know we need to keep working. We like 10 plays tonight. This is what we recommend:

Bucks +1 @ Sonics: The Sonics are really fun to watch and the Bucks have been terrible against them in their recent meetings. However, we think the Bucks front court will get the job done and cover. Take the Bucks +1.

Bulls @ Pistons -8: The Bulls are smokin’ hot right now. We think this line is a trap. It is begging you to take the Bulls. That is why we are taking the Pistons. Take the Pistons -8.

Clippers @ Kings -5: The Clippers are terrible. We LOVE the Kings at home. Take the Kings -5.

Heat +8.5 @ Warriors: The Heat looked terrible last night in Portland. They are not a good team right now. No energy. The Warriors have been just the opposite. That said, we think the Heat get their heads right tonight and muster enough to cover the 8.5. Take the Heat +8.5.

Jazz @ Spurs PICK ‘EM: The Spurs showed a lot in their Duncan-less win against the Mavs. They are a very good, very well coached team. The Jazz will give them a run for their money in this game, but they are a much different team on the road. Much different. Home court gives the Spurs a big edge in this one. Take the Spurs Pick ‘EM.

Rockets -4.5 @ Nets: The Nets are just a mess. The Jason Kidd sick day and trade demand rumors are causing a major headache with this team (we know that is a terrible joke). Regardless of the recent Kidd stuff, the Nets just have not been a good team all year. We love this spread. The Rockets will get after them and take this one. Take the Rockets -4.5.

Pacers @ Magic -8; OVER/UNDER 212: The Pacers have opened eyes this year. Since trading away the trouble makers from last year’s team, they are playing much, much better. That said, we just love the Magic at home. Dwight Howard is a manchild. The Magic front court should out rebound the Pacers and the Magic back-court can handle the Pacers. Take the Magic -8. Also, the OVER is too high for these teams. They match-up well and we think they both play good D. We think they will keep it relatively low scoring. Take the UNDER 212.

Suns -6.5 @ Wizards: The Suns are rollin’ on this road trip. They own the NBA LEast. They roll in this one. Take the Suns -6.5.

Raptors @ Celtics -12:Injuries played a major role in this play. If Bosh and Bargnani were healthy, this would be a different pick (granted the line would be much different, too). The Celtics have been unstoppable at home. TJ Ford cannot do this on his own. Take the Celtics -12.

NBA PICKS: 11/30/07

We lost are only game last night as the Rockets failed to show-up at the Warriors. Brings our season record to a heart breaking 43-47-1. We are down, but definately not out. The season still has a long way to go and we are in it to win it. Here are our picks for tonight:

Celtics -3 @ Heat: The C’s head south to South Beach after an absolute beating of the Knicks. The Knicks put on the worse pefromance I have ever seen. Why Q. Richardson talked smack before the game about the C’s amazes me. This line is low because the Celtics are a much different team playing back-to-back games. Also, the last time they played the Heat it was at home and they barely won. We think they took the Heat for granted in the game. They will be ready for them now. 3 points is not too much for this team. Take the Celtics -3

Pacers -1.5 @ Sonics: The Pacers have been playing decent lately. The Sonics are very young and they have been making teams work to beat them. We think the experience of the pacers will win out here. Take the Pacers -1.5.

Blazers +13.5 @ Mavs: The Blazers are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games. It will end tonight. Take the Blazers +13.5.

Magic +5.5 @ Suns: The Suns have been an enigma ATS this year (if you’ve paid attention to our picks, you’ll know that that is EXTREMELY frustrating to us). The Magic are our homies. We are ridin’ with them. We think they win outright. Take the Magic +5.5.

Bucks -1.5 @ Knicks: Although experience tells us that we should take the Knicks here, we aren’t. F the Knicks. We are taking the Bucks on principal. Take the Bucks -1.5.

Good luck.

Another 1-2 night!! I think we should change our name to 1-2 we hit it so much. Our season record is 40-44-1. It is a joke. We know. We will rebound. Here are picks tonight:

Cavs @ Pistons -8.5: This is a Vegas trap game. With the way the Cavs have been playing, this spread should be no where near this high. If anything, the Pistons should be the dog. That said, we are taking the Pistons. Take the Pistons -8.5.

Magic -8.5 @ Sonics: Magic are rested. They will roll. Take the Magic -8.5.

Jazz @ Sixers +6.5: The Jazz are a terrible road team ATS. We like the Sixers to cover. Take the Sixers +6.5.

Grizzles +6.5 @ Raptors: We are going against intuition here. We typically take the Raptors. However, we think the Grizzlies will cover. Take the Grizz +6.5.

Warriors -1.5 @ Kings: Very close match-up. Despite the Kings being great dogs at home, we think the Warriors end their trend of covers. Take the Warriors -1.5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS: 11/26/07

Greetings. Our Turkey Day weekend picks were not kind to us at all. But, this is a new week and we are forever the optimists. Our season records stands at 38-40-1. We like 3 games tonight. Here we go:

Suns -5 @ Warriors: This game scares us somewhat given that it is a low spread and the Suns are on the road. Also, the Suns have been hit-or-miss ATS all season. The fact remains that they are loaded with scorers. The Suns have been terrible ATS in their last head-to-head meetings (4-6 in their last 10). However, we think they match-up well and will cover. Take the Suns -5.

Magic -5 @ Blazers: The Blazers were our cover horses last season. Losing Randolph and Oden have hurt them this year. They have not been consistent ATS. The Magic have been ridiculously hot. The ATS numbers lean slightly towards the Blazers (Magic are 3-9-2 ATS in their last 14 head-to-head match-ups, but they are 13-3-2 in their last 18 road games and the Blazers are 7-22 ATS in their last 29 Monday games, and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games), but this is not the same Blazers team. This is also a much better Magic squad. The Magic are loaded and hot. Take advantage. Take the Magic -5.

Jazz -5 @ Knicks: This game is a clean sweep game. The Jazz beat them (soundly) in all the ATS  numbers. They are rested and loaded. The Knicks ended their losing streak Saturday against the Bulls. The Bulls are not good though. The Jazz roll. Take the Jazz -5.

Good luck.

NBA PICKS DAY 22 (11/21/07)

Disappointing 1-1 last night brings our season to 35-36-1, F’ing terrible! We like 4 games tonight:

Wizards @ Bobcats -5.5: Wizards looked great last night. Especially given that they played without Agent 0. They will be tired tonight. The Bobcats will be ready. We love them at home. Bobcats own their recent meetings ATS. Take the Bobcats -5.5.

Mavs +2 @ Rockets: Rockets are banged-up. We love the mavs getting points. Take the Mavs +2.

Magic +5.5 @ Spurs: We will never doubt the mighty magic again!! The Spurs are terrible ATS. We think the Magic win outright. Take the Magic +5.5.

Kings @ Suns -13.5: We are taking this simply because we think it is a trap. After last night, everything says take the Kings. That is why we are taking the Suns. Take the Suns -13.5.

Good luck!

NBA Picks: Day 20 – 11/19/2007

On the season we are 33-34-1 and we have two picks for you tonight:

Game 1 = Magic at Hornets (-1) – We are taking the Hornets to win and cover. We think the Hornets are a better team and the Magic are coming off a tough win last night and will be spent. Back to back games get in their way. Hornets will be rested and ready to run.

Game 2 = Nets at Jazz (-11) – We like the Jazz to win and cover. Vegas knows this is going to be an ass whooping and could have set a higher line and we still would have taken it.

NBA PICKS: DAY 16

Good night last night-3-1. Brings our season record closer to respectability at 26-23-1. Not even close to good, but a little closer to a record that we can talk about in public. It will keep improving. Here’s our picks for tonight:

Magic +3 @ Cavs: We are a little reluctant to take the Magic in this one, but we like the points. We think they will cover. Take the Magic +3.

Jazz -1.5 @ Raptors: A battle of teams that love to cover for us. Utah owns their recent match-ups. Take the Jazz -1.5.

Sixers @ Hornets -8.5: Hornets destroyed them recently in Philly. The Sixers played most of last night’s game against the Mavs close, but lost it big in the end. The Hornets are rested and at home. A lot of points to give-up to a team that plays good D, but we think the Hornets will cover. Take the Hornets -8.5.

Knicks @ Clippers: The Knicks are a team in turmoil. And they are bad. The Clippers are rested and at home. Take the Clippers -8.

Pistons @ Warriors +2.5: The Pistons screwed us last night. The Warriors are winless, and they have too much talent to be winless at this point. They are rested. They get their first W tonight. Take the Warriors +2.5.

Kings +2 @ Wolves: This is an Ike Turner Game (more than typical bet). We like this a lot. Both teams are bad, but the numbers point to the Kings winning big. It is fantastic that they are getting points. Take the Kings +2.

There you go. Good luck with your picks.
