DaiSuckit Matsuzaka – the name says it all!!!

Name one interesting stat about Dice-K this year. Ok how about this one… His ERA has gone up in every single start this season:

2.57
2.70
4.00
4.36
5.45

How about another one…Dice-K has issued the 9th most walks in the AL this year.

How about this one…Dice-Ks two best starts were on the road. His home numbers are horrible. Lets take a look:

Home ERA – 5.79
Home IP – 14
Home Hits given up – 16 hits
Opposing Batting Avg. against at home – .291

Enjoy Red Sox fans. Have fun with his home starts and have even more fun when teams see him multiple times in a season. it is going to get ugly. Very ugly. This in fact might be the most overpaid baseball player int he history of the league and he has BUST written all over him.

Here is a great Dice-K quote from last night’s game:

“Today as I came off of the mound and I looked at my own pitching and with the way that I have been pitching lately, I definitely know that I need to change something,” Matsuzaka said.

You are darn right you need to change something…. your address!!! You will not succeed here like you did in Japan. You might be better off in the National League but your season will not be a successfuly one in the United States.

  1. I think the expectations for this guy were ridiculous (of course that comes with the lofty contract that Boston handed him). A lot of people were ready to anoint him the front-runner for AL Cy Young! I wonder if Johan Santana and Roy Halladay had anything to say about that.

    That being said, he’s got a lot of pretty nasty pitches and he gives them some good length into games (something the Yankees could use). I’d say he’ll probably end up with an ERA in the 4’s and around 15 wins.

  7. I would say the Sx pitching is doing just fine. When you can throw $100 million at a 3 to 4 type pitcher you should be better off than the Blue Jays, Orioles and Tampa Bay. They still will not win the World Series.

    And just for the record….I hate #13 on the Yanks far more than Schilling.
